Come back with cold hands and muddy boots. Sit in the hot tub while steam rises into the October air. Dress for dinner. Eat well. Sleep in a quiet room upstairs.

Then start again with breakfast and the valley outside the window.

Dinner can start before the first course.

A venison Scotch egg with black pudding and pickled walnut ketchup. Prawn and lobster toast with gochujang mayonnaise and sesame. Or a bacon jam, Brie custard and cranberry tartlet while you decide what comes next.

These are called nibbles on the menu. They have a habit of becoming a reason to order another drink.

Steak Night for Two

For those who share the everyday, the adventures, the stories and preferably the good food too. Our Romantic Dinner for Two is made for evenings when you simply want to sit down together and enjoy something a little special.

Begin with a glass of fizz on arrival, followed by an indulgent 800g steak made for sharing, before finishing with a dessert for two. Generous, relaxed and wonderfully uncomplicated - beautiful food, a relaxed setting and someone you’re rather fond of across the table.

£80 for two Thursday, Friday & Saturday

A good October weekend should involve muddy paws.

There are commons, woodland and footpaths almost from the door, with the Cotswolds changing colour around you as you walk.

Then back to Burleigh for water for the dog, something stronger for you and a quiet evening at the manor.

A little spooky. A lot delicious.
This autumn, our traditional afternoon tea takes a mischievous turn at Burleigh Court.

Think delicate finger sandwiches, warm homemade scones with clotted cream and preserves, and a playful assortment of seasonal cakes and miniature desserts. Expect tempting flavours of apple, pumpkin, pear, chocolate and warming spice, with a few sweet surprises along the way.

As autumn settles over the Golden Valley, the British game season brings some of the most distinctive flavours of the year to Burleigh Court.
Join us at our two AA Rosette restaurant near Stroud for a five-course tasting experience celebrating the richness of British game, autumn vegetables and the best seasonal produce from our Cotswolds larder and kitchen garden.
Expect beautifully crafted dishes, deep autumn flavours and thoughtful combinations that bring the very best of the season to the table. Begin with a welcome canapé, then settle in for five courses created to savour slowly, with the option of a carefully selected w**e flight to complement the experience.

October changes a bedroom.

The curtains are drawn a little earlier. A bath after a long walk becomes considerably more tempting. Outside, the valley darkens; downstairs, glasses are being poured before dinner.

Then there is the very satisfying prospect of a proper bed and absolutely no commute in the morning.
