🌸 Cavendish Open Gardens is TODAY! 🌸

The weather might be a bit wet and dull, but don’t let that stop you—the gardens are in full, glorious bloom and absolutely stunning! Grab your umbrella or a raincoat and come explore the beautiful hidden gems of Cavendish.

 Time: 11am – 5pm (Today & Tomorrow!)

Tickets: £7 per adult (covers both days!), and children go free!

 Where to buy: Pick up your tickets today at the village shop, village hall, or any participating garden.

There are also refreshments, plant sales, and a raffle to enjoy, with all proceeds going to fantastic local causes like St Nicholas Hospice Care, East Anglian Air Ambulance, and the Cavendish Community Association. ☕🍰

Please note: No dogs allowed in the gardens).

Exactly one year ago today, my life changed when I pulled up outside Manor Cottage. It was a sweltering, sunny afternoon, and as I arrived for my 1:30 PM viewing, the sound of church bells ringing in the air felt like a personal welcome.

The cottage has such a distinct, charming character. From the moment I stepped onto that stone path and looked up at the cottage, I had that undeniable "this is it" feeling. I knew right then and there that I had to buy it.

Walking through the door, I was completely blown away. It didn’t matter that there were cobwebs in the corners or that the garden was a wild, overgrown jungle at the time; the potential was glowing. I remember wandering through the rooms in a daze of excitement, finally standing in the loft room and whispering to myself, “You’re mine.”

Fast forward to today, and that dream is officially my reality. Looking at the beautiful cottage now, I can say with total certainty: I wouldn’t change a single thing for the world. Happy one-year anniversary to this gorgeous cottage!

This weekend, we set out to reclaim the heart of our cottage.

The goal was simple: strip away the unnecessary and breathe new life into the lounge. We’ve said goodbye to the bulky, oversized furniture that once dominated the room, opening up the floor plan to create a sense of airy freedom and, most importantly, more room for you to relax.

The result is a space that feels significantly larger, more intentional, and far more comfortable for our future guests.

A View Worth Lingering For
The star of the show is our new neutral damask sofa. We’ve positioned it perfectly to act as your primary vantage point for the cottage's best features.
From the plush, cushioned depths of the sofa, you can now look through the classic sash windows and enjoy a truly quintessential English view. Watch the light dance across the lush village green and take in the historic silhouette of the local church just beyond the garden hedge. It’s a peaceful, living postcard that changes with the light of day.

The Refurbished Statement Piece
While we leaned into modern comfort for the seating, we wanted to honor the cottage's history with our furniture. I spent the weekend refurbishing our antique wooden TV cabinet, and it has truly become a centerpiece of the room.

Today’s project: breathing life into this bare walkway! ✨

I wanted to do something special with this long stretch right outside the back door. What could be better than a mirror to add depth and an evergreen climber to bring the magic? 🌿

I’ve chosen a fragrant Clematis so that every time the door opens, the scent fills the air. I can’t wait for it to grow around the mirror and create that enchanting, secret-garden look. 🌸🪞
