Great News!

A new River Tawe cycle path
and 500 e-bikes for hire are both coming to Swansea 🚲

🚴 Work is set to begin this year on a long-awaited shared-use path along the west bank of the River Tawe, linking the city centre with the Swansea.com Stadium and Morfa Retail Park — a stretch of around a mile.

💰 The path will cost £8.25 million in total and be built in three phases over three years, funded by the Welsh Government, UK Government and a developer contribution.

🚲 A new e-bike hire scheme is also coming, with around 500 bikes funded by £750,000 of Welsh Government money.

📸 Speed cameras are coming to the A484 between the Cadle roundabout and Loughor Bridge, following a history of collisions on the route. Average speed cameras, improved road markings and new signage are all planned.

🌊 £800,000 has been earmarked for a drainage scheme at flood-prone Killay Square, and a new £700,000 path will link Ffordd Beck in Gowerton to Pont Y Cob Road.

⚡ Eight new rapid electric vehicle charge points are also planned across Clydach, St Thomas, the SA1 waterfront and Port Eynon on Gower.

📋 Cabinet is expected to formally approve the £6.7 million Regional Transport Fund award when it meets on April 16th
