"Hi! Let me show you the washing machine!" 😅

Hey, we get it.

You’ve just arrived after a long drive, your dog is either vibrating with post-journey excitement or fast asleep in the footwell, everyone needs a wee, and you’re just ready to unpack and decompress.

The last thing you want is us rocking up at the door for ten minutes of awkward small talk.

That’s why, when you arrive at Wagtails Dog Friendly Cottage Somerset, we don't come knocking to say hi.

We know that some dogs are reactive and need space to settle down without extra faces at the door. We know that travel is tiring, kids might be cranky, and sometimes you just want to walk through the door, kick your shoes off, and breathe.

We trust you to make yourselves at home. Everything you need is in the cottage handbook and if you do need us for anything at all, we’re only a text away.

Otherwise? Consider us your invisible hosts. Unpack, pour a drink, let the pup sniff around, and enjoy your break.

Autumn is officially in full swing, and if you’re staying with us at Woodlands Holiday Cottage Somerset this October, you are perfectly placed for a classic Autumn day out!

Whether you’re hunting for giant carving pumpkins, delicate gourds, or just after warm drinks and fun autumn photo spots, here are three fantastic pumpkin patches nearby:

1. Pitt Farm Pumpkins (West Buckland, Wellington)
Drive Time: ~10 minutes from Woodlands Holiday Cottage Somerset
The Vibe: Local, convenient, and family-friendly!
What to Expect: Over 30 varieties of pumpkins and gourds, plus a maize maze, bale mountain, photo setups, and artisan coffee/hot chocolate from The Happy Cafe.
Good to Know: Pre-booking tickets online is required to secure entry. (Assistance dogs only).
2. Orway Porch Farm (Kentisbeare, near Cullompton)
