Rockaway is happy to be hosting this Sunday matinee show on the 8th November. Kick off from 11 ish and first band expected about 1.30pm
If you would like to book a Sunday roast please be sure to do so online before 6pm on Friday 6th.. we've also got a bonfire here on the 7th and there will be some food available at both this and the gig, but Sunday roasts need advance booking. Hope that's clear

Omega Tribe formed in London in the early 1980s and were part of the anarcho scene. They were featured on Bu****it Detector 2 and their first EP, Angry Songs, was released on Crass Records. The follow up LP, No Love Lost, was on Corpus Christi. Their musical style is very melodic with lyrical themes encompassing protest as well as personal subjects. 

Icons of Filth are a Welsh anarcho band formed in 1979. Their cassette LP, Not On Her Majesty’s Service, was the first release on Conflict’s Mortarhate label. Their singer Stig sadly passed away in 2004 and the band reformed after doing an anniversary gig in his memory in 2014. Their musical style is heavy and they address many political issues in their lyrics including animal rights, environmentalism and religion.

D.O.V.E. are female-fronted peace punks from California and this tour is the first chance to see them in the UK. Their sound is influenced by 1908s anarcho and also some of the post-punk bands. Their songs are anti capitalism and ant war but seen through a more emotional lens, and their sound is melodic.

Our Sunday Sessions are Rockaway’s signature monthly community events. They offer a family-friendly, relaxed, and welcoming atmosphere, making them the perfect introduction for first-time visitors to experience the full spectrum of what Rockaway is all about. What to Expect

A typical Sunday Session is a bustling, joyous affair with something for everyone:

Famous Vegan Roasts: The culinary centre-piece of the day, with delicious, home-cooked food served from our Vegan Café. Book on our website before Friday evening.

Arts Market: A vibrant market featuring a fantastic array of local independent artists, crafters, makers, and traders.

Live Music / Open Mic: The day is filled with the sounds of live music or open mic performances, providing a relaxed and family-friendly entertainment backdrop.

Open Studios: An opportunity to meet some of our talented resident artists, see their work, and explore their creative spaces.

Wellbeing Services: The wonderful team from Normal Magic is often on hand, offering free mental health advice and workshops.

Sunday Sessions are free for everyone to attend, with a small fee for on-site parking. They are family-friendly affairs and a great way to soak up the friendly, chilled-out vibe in our unique setting.

Spend a day learning the art of stone carving in the unique and inspiring setting of Rockaway Park. It is the perfect place for anyone who enjoys creativity, craft and a relaxed atmosphere.

The workshop begins at 9.30am with a short introduction to the tools, materials and techniques you will be using. You can choose from a range of simple, intermediate or more detailed pre‑printed patterns, or design your own if you prefer. Once you have chosen your design, you will learn how to transfer it onto the stone and make your first carving cuts.

Your tutor for the day is Paul Maggs, an experienced craft mason and long‑standing teacher of stone masonry. Paul has a calm and encouraging teaching style, and he is skilled at helping beginners feel confident with the tools. He will be on hand throughout the day to offer guidance, demonstrations and support whenever you need it.

We keep the day relaxed, with a tea break around 11am and a lunch break between 1pm and 2pm. The workshop usually finishes at 4pm, or earlier if everyone completes their piece.

All materials, tools and PPE are provided. By the end of the session you will head home with your own hand‑carved stone creation. To book go to Rockaway park.co.uk/workshops

Sadly Billy Nomates has had to cancel tonight’s show at our Arts Weekender due to illness. If anyone has bought tickets or travelled especially to see Billy Nomates perform and doesn’t want to attend then we will offer a refund.
