We noticed a Grey wagtail coming and going frequently from one of the large Hydrangea pots. We very quietly popped a camera in there and look what we found…

It is a real privilege to share Netherwood with so much wildlife. The hydrangea is keeping them safe and sheltered and we are keeping an eye out for some little fledglings appearing in the coming days!

We have two spaces left on our ‘Summer Flowers from the Garden’ flower arranging masterclass with Shane Connolly on 10th July.

Watch and learn as Shane creates beautiful arrangements. He will then guide you through the process as you create your own arrangements to take home with you.

The day runs from 10am-4pm and includes a tour of the garden, refreshments, a delicious two course lunch and tea and cake at the end of the day.

We would love to welcome you to Netherwood this weekend for the last of our The National Garden Scheme Open Gardens of 2026.

Please come along, open 10am-4pm tomorrow and Sunday. The gardens are looking wonderful and the plant stall is bursting!

Teas, coffees and cakes available. No need to book, just turn up. A great way to spend what looks to be a sunny weekend🤞

A very small selection of our favourite roses at Netherwood. We are lucky to have so many of these beautiful plants all over the estate, and every year we are treated to spectacular displays of colour and scent. Very tricky to even choose a few favourites!

Nearly all of these are - breeders known and loved for their commitment to quality and their enormous variety of roses.

Think we ought to try the new David Beckham rose next…

We absolutely love Bearded Irises. They’ve become a firm favourite in our gardens over the years and we keep finding spaces to dedicate to more varieties!
They produce such beautifully scented, glamorous displays every June and they are a real staple plant in our gardens.
Here are just a handful of the many varieties we have and love at Netherwood.

We have the wonderful exhibiting artwork at Netherwood from Friday 5th - Sunday 14th June. This coincides with the last of our open gardens this year on 13th-14th June so do come along and enjoy the garden at the same time.
It’s a wonderful exhibition offering a collection of original works by John Piper, Elisabeth Frink, Rowland Suddaby, Robert Tavener and their contemporaries. All works are for sale, and prices for prints start at £25.

A perfect day for a winter walk in the woods. Our holiday let guests can wander across the Estate when they are staying here and it’s a beautiful time to get out into nature. This is Herefordshire’s answer to the cottage from The Holiday. The Freeth is a lovingly restored country house with covetable, cosy interiors with roaring fires and squishy sofas. It’s a tad larger than the film original and sleeps up to 18. It also has its own indoor swimming pool to keep everyone entertained whatever the weather. Sadly we can’t guarantee that the likes of live down the road….

Thank you for embracing the enjoyment to be had when staying here.
