☕️ Happy International Coffee Day… for yesterday!
We were a little too busy roasting and getting your orders out of the door to actually post anything - so firstly, thank you to everyone who’s ordered from us this week.
We’re hoping it’s still 1st October somewhere in the world… 😅
International Coffee Day is a good excuse to remember just how much goes into the cup we drink every day.
Long before the beans reach our roastery, there are farmers and workers growing and picking coffee cherries, processing them, drying them, sorting them and preparing them for their journey halfway around the world. We just get the privilege of taking it from there, roasting it and sending it on to you.
And, of course, a special mention for the legendary Ethiopian goats who supposedly started all this by munching on coffee cherries and becoming suspiciously energetic. 🐐☕️ Their herder noticed, the story goes, and several centuries later here we all are… completely obsessed with coffee.
So here’s to the farmers, the pickers, the processors, the exporters, the importers, the roasters - and most importantly, all of you who enjoy the final cup.
Thank you for sharing our interest/enthusiasm/mild obsession with coffee.
Here’s to the cup! ☕️
