🌊 A LITTLE BIT OF COLWYN BAY HISTORY 🌊

Macie and I have been exploring Colwyn Bay today! 🐾❤️

Did you know Colwyn Bay has been a seaside resort for well over 100 years? The original Victoria Pier opened in 1900 and became a huge part of the town’s history. After years of decline, the new Pier Bae Colwyn opened in 2021, built within the footprint of the original pier and incorporating salvaged Victorian ironwork.

Today, the beautiful promenade and wide sandy beach have been given a new lease of life, with Porth Eirias bringing watersports, cafés and modern facilities right onto the seafront.

And, of course, it’s a fantastic place to explore with your four legged friends too! 🐶❤️

Macie has been there today and, quite frankly, she was demanding a selfie for you all! 😂📸🐾

Macie has been down on the beach today doing some very important research into sand, sea, snacks and whether she can convince me that she needs another sausage. 😂

Just a little update for everyone 😊

You may have noticed that the name on here has changed from Abbeyford Lodge to North Wales Coastal Stays.

Don’t panic, don’t be alarmed and definitely don’t think some big corporate company has taken over 😂 It’s still me, Ian, at the other end of this page.

What started out with me having one caravan that I rented out occasionally when I wasn’t using it has now grown to three caravans, and I’ve decided it’s time to turn it into a proper little business and do things properly and run it like a proper business.

I’ve now registered as an actual business. The website is now being built and should be active within the next six weeks, with a complete booking programme on there, making it much easier for everyone to check availability and book directly.

I’m hoping to gradually grow my little fleet over the coming years and build North Wales Coastal Stays into something really special.

So, whilst the name and the look might be changing, the person behind it hasn’t!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far, booked with me, recommended me or simply followed along. I really do appreciate it.

As our main peak season comes to an end and we welcome our final guests, I just wanted to take a moment to say a HUGE thank you to every single person who has stayed in one of my caravans this year. ❤️

Thank you for choosing my caravans for your little holiday away from home. It genuinely means so much to me, and I hope you’ve all made some fantastic memories during your time in Towyn.

Next year is going to be even bigger, with multiple caravans to choose from, giving you more options and more availability.

I’ve put together my prices for JULY & AUGUST 2027 and I’m releasing them now because, although it seems very early, the peak weeks go incredibly quickly!

I also know that lots of you have asked about payment plans, so I’m more than happy to arrange one for you. You can spread the cost over the coming months and have everything paid in full well before your holiday arrives. 😊

If you stayed with me this year and already know you’d like to come back next summer, or if you’ve been thinking about booking for the first time, now is a great time to get your dates secured.

I also still have some availability remaining for SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER this year. 🍂

There is lots of availability in my NEW VAN on Abbeyford, but very little availability left in my original caravan, so if you fancy a little autumn getaway, please get in touch.

Started the day at Abbeyford Lodge. Coffee on the balcony in this wonderful sunshine, then a quick 10-minute drive to Rhos-on-Sea for breakfast at Marmalade Kitchen.

Then on to Llandudno and up the Great Orme.

All within minutes. Blue skies, sea views, warm air… then back to your own place to unwind.
