🐾 Max has just been informed that Y Talbot will be closed on Mondays throughout the winter. As you can see, he's absolutely devastated. 😂

From 1st November until 28th February:

💤 Mondays: Closed – giving Team Talbot a well-earned breather.

🍽️ Sunday evenings: Our kitchen will close after lunch service, but the pub stays OPEN for drinks, good company and our regular live entertainment! 🍻🎶

So while we might be slowing down a little for winter, we're certainly not disappearing!

Max, however, has made his feelings about the new working arrangements perfectly clear... even a four-day working week would be pushing it. 🐾🤣

👩‍🍳 Meet Lottie – our new Sous Chef!

We've got a new face in the kitchen at Y Talbot, although she's settled in so quickly it already feels like she's been here for years!

Lottie is a Tregaron local who has previously worked at Conti's in Lampeter and The Moody Cow in Aberaeron. She's now joined forces with Dafydd and the rest of our kitchen team, bringing plenty of experience, enthusiasm and fresh ideas to the table. 🍽️

But enough about her CV. We asked Lottie a few far more important questions...

🌌 Dream holiday? Lapland to see the Northern Lights.

🌦️ Superpower of choice? Controlling the weather. Frankly, if she can manage that in Ceredigion, a pay rise will be imminent!

🎬 Favourite film? A Knight's Tale.

🎖️ Any hobbies? WWII re-enactments. Or, in Lottie's own words, "I like to dress up!"

💬 Best piece of advice? "If you make the same mistake more than twice, it's not a mistake, it's your style."

We're delighted to have her on board and have a feeling she's going to fit right in with Team Talbot! ❤️

Foodie Friday!
Now here's one that's bound to divide opinion... introducing our new dessert – Jam Doughnut Bread Pudding!
Yes, that's right. No need to question my spelling! We're talking jam-filled doughnuts turned into a good old-fashioned bread and butter pudding.

Certainly a step up from stale brioche or a few slices of Mother's Pride! 😆

Soft, rich and indulgent, with little pockets of oozy jam throughout, served warm with a generous scoop of our homemade vanilla ice cream.

Some childhood favourites are just too good to leave in the past!
