Friday 6th November - the date is set! Our first ever Afternoon tea at The Green.

We are mixing things up, instead of sandwiches we will be warming your cockles with an autumnal soup, followed by 3 delicious flavoured scones (one of which I have successfully tasted seven times in the last two days, I can't stop! I think it's safe to say they are delicious!), and then last but not least the sweet element of the menu.

We are not releasing the full menu until next week so keep those eyes peeled. However, I can give you a 'taste' of the soup we will be serving, our kitchen garden is producing some seriously tasty squash which we have blended with apple and ginger to bring a taste of autumn, topped off with a sage, pumpkin seed and crouton crumble and served with savoury biscuits. Is anybody else drooling?

Tickets are £35 each and of course includes lashings of tea.

An evening of inspiring conversation and fresh perspectives.

Join us at The Green on Thursday 26 November for the first in our new Intimate Conversations series, welcoming bestselling author and leading voice in neurodiversity Peter Wharmby.

Hosted by of the award-winning Good Journeys, this relaxed conversation will explore Pete’s life, writing and experiences of being autistic, and how we can all help create a more inclusive world for autistic children and adults.

There’ll be time for your questions at the end and a chance to buy signed copies of Pete’s wonderful books too.

Whether you’re familiar with Pete’s books or simply curious to hear his story and learn more about neurodiversity, we’d love to welcome you.

THE GREEN TEA

An Afternoon Tea at The Green, Wingfield (just 9 miles from Bath).

We’ve been working on our up coming ‘afternoon tea with a difference’. Although we love a cucumber sandwich here at The Green, we promised a change to the norm and have decided to bring a warm element to our autumn menu in the shape of a homemade soup using seasonal ingredients from our kitchen Garden. After several recipe trials we have found what we think is the perfect autumn flavour combo and will be sharing more when we announce next week our first THE GREEN TEA date along with details on how to reserve your table.

Being a luxury B&B hotel, it won’t surprise you to learn that most of our guests are not locals. We always feel it’s a shame that we rarely get an opportunity to share The Green with our friends and neighbours, several of whom have asked if we plan to offer cream teas - It’s not a very well kept secret locally that Aurelius has a talent for making scones - so we’ve taken one of the best of British summer customs and given it a distinctly autumnal flavour.

At the end of October we will be serving up THE GREEN TEA. Think afternoon tea with a difference and a chance to enjoy The Green without having to spend the night.

New scone flavour testing has already started - first batch, shallot and thyme

Keep your eyes peeled for more information coming soon including dates & menus.
