Himalayan Balsam watch out!

We are trying to deal with it here at Wowo with the help of the Sussex Wildlife Trust and The Woodland Trust.

🌸 Why are Britain's rivers turning pink?

At first glance, it's one of the most beautiful sights you'll ever see...

Millions of vibrant flowers transforming rivers and streams into ribbons of pink.

But this stunning wildflower has divided opinions for generations.

Some call it a beautiful blessing 🙏

Others call it one of Britain's most destructive invasive plants. ☠️

So... who's right?

Today we're setting out to uncover the fascinating story of Himalayan balsam. From its journey from the foothills of the Himalayas to the British countryside, to its impact on wildlife, its surprising edible uses, and whether this controversial plant deserves its reputation.

Summer is upon us with schools breaking up in a few weeks! It's time to get your camping or glamping booking locked in before we sell out. Get your family out into the outdoors under canvas.

So tag your chosen camping crew and choose a date below to come on down.

Here is our entirely comprehensive remaining availability for summer holidays.

Camping dates available:
- All weekends sold out until September!
- Mid week between Sunday to Thursdays - 2 night minimum, up to 5 nights
- September weekends currently available (and mid week)

Half term holidays are upon us and a perfectly timed heatwave to boot!

If you are a terrible planner and are still looking for something fun to do with the kids, then look no further. We still have a few camping spaces Monday to Thursday nights to book.

We also now have Bluebell Shepherds Hut (interior pictured below) available on Friday 29th for one lucky family to finish half term. This is our most comfortable option with ensuite toilet, running water, power and space for a family of 5.

For all those campers already booked in for this bank holiday weekend and half term week, we are really looking forward to seeing you all in the sun. The ice machine is ready and waiting.

It’s World Bee 🐝 day! Let’s celebrate bees together…

One of Wowo’s owners is called Bea, and she loves bees! You might spot her holding one of her many bee themed mugs! ☕️

Did you know - we have bee hives here at Wowo, run by - and you can buy Wowo Bee honey in our campsite shop! You don’t get more local than that 🥰

☘️ We have planted lots of clover rich grassland in the camping fields with bees in mind, and we leave wild flower and grass strips all around the campsite for extra bee foraging and wild life habitats - the bees need all the help they can get, so we want to give them every helping hand. If you are lucky, you might even find a four leaf clover nestled next to your camp ✨
