The latest radar from Net Weather shows a slow moving band of rain across northern England, this gave 50mm of rain in Lincolnshire.

It is moving slowly northwards towards us but will fragment, we can expect some showers across the east tonight and tomorrow, heavier and more persistent rain across the Northern Isles along with a strong NE wind, edging into Caithness later too.

Very little, if any rain from this across the west.

These were last night's coldest spots.

Frost in July happens in most years in the glens around the Cairngorms, but in the middle of a hot spell like this it is quite unusual to get this low.
Some of these spots will make 27c by mid afternoon.

The lowest official July record is -2.5c at Lagganlia, near Kincraig in 1977

Emergency services continue to respond to a large fire in the open near to Ryvoan Bothy within the Cairngorms National Park, reported around 11.50am on Wednesday, 15 July, 2026.

A number of properties and premises in the area have been evacuated as a precaution.

The C7 road, known locally as Ski Road, has been closed.

Anyone walking in the Cairngorms should avoid the area and let family or friends know when they have returned.

Nearby residents are asked to keep windows and doors closed.
