Water water! 💦
This glorious weather is of course very welcome but all our poor trees and plants are needing some extra attention and watering as much as we possibly can. The work that goes on behind the scenes to make the house ready for guests doesn’t just stop at bedsheets and cleaning..!

New for this year is our rather marvellous sun canopy. With tilting panels, it makes a perfect addition to the outdoor seating area in the courtyard. Much needed today..it wasn’t only the chocolate cake melting! 🍰

Such a gorgeous day for Summer Solstice-The longest day of the year. Wonderful summer sunshine, and it’s actually hot too! ☀️
The orchard and lovely trees at the back of the house offer a perfect spot for sitting in the cool and enjoying some peace and quiet 🌳. (Preferably with a glass of something! 😉)

It’s getting hot this week here up at the coast! And with more nice weather due next week what better place to be than by the sea! 🌊
We still have a few last minute slots available at the end of a June/early July, so if you’re looking for a last minute get away, have totally failed to get Dad a Father’s Day pressie or just need some sea air, get in touch!

Our current guests have just had a scrumptious looking dinner party cooked for them on site by one of our recommended chefs, Avril at .
We have a tried and tested list of caterers who will happily come to the house during your stay and cook up a wonderful, locally produced feast. Be it from a dinner party on one night or holiday meals for the duration of your stay, we can help you find the right person. Just ask for more details when booking your stay.
(And also if you’ve had a chef or caterer not on our list and you think we should know about them, please send them our details. We’re always happy to give them a trial run ourselves…😁).

This bay window in the drawing room is just glorious in good weather. Sit and enjoy the view - from both inside and out!

In between the snow, hail and freezing temperatures, the sun has (occasionally!) been shining..🥶☀️🤷🏼‍♀️.
Such extraordinary British weird weather we’ve all had over the last week- Fools Spring for sure!
But, when the sun is out this terrace at the front of the house is the perfect spot to be. Sheltered from the sea weather, it’s a glorious little sun trap! Perfect for a cuppa whilst enjoying the best of our sunshine. Now for actual Spring…🤞🏻

The top of the back stairs, complete with soft light coving and cosy sofas, makes a lovely place to sit and relax before partying or a fun dinner with friends. 💃🏻
