Always sad to see a tree come down, but this old ash had split at the base of the trunk and was becoming dangerous. Great job by TrunkArb Tree Surgeons.

It’s not often we have three doggie visitors at once, so this weekend was special. Welcome lovely Luna, Rufus and Mango the chihuahua. We hope you enjoyed your stays.

This extraordinary series of discoveries is just across the road from us!

A network of 10 kilometers of passages with giant caverns is found in the Forest of Dean.

Some images of a wonderful sunny hot June here at Saltbox Escapes...

1. Our new hens are settling in, soon they'll be laying. More eggs for us - and our guests.

2. Becca's planted pots are definitely the best ever this year.

3. One of our many doggie visitors - little Pablo is a "papillon" or Continental Toy Spaniel.

4. The dog show at the village fete was a great success.

5. This lovely Martagon Lily grows wild in our garden, and is gradually multiplying year on year.

Come and visit - we have plenty of availability in August and beyond - and experience the wonderful Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
