We’ve added something new for guests at the Croft of Feithhill—locally themed coaster sets and fridge magnets, designed and made here at Feithhill.
Each coaster set features four familiar local subjects: the Croft of Feithhill, Bennachie, The Glendronach Distillery and the Turra Coo.
The four-coaster sets are £20, with Croft of Feithhill fridge magnets available for £5.
They’re available to buy at the Croft, or send us a message if you’d like a set.

Silage Time at Feithhill

A busy few days at Feithhill cutting and baling this year's silage. The grass is baled and wrapped to preserve it, providing valuable feed for the cattle throughout the winter months.

Silage making is always a race against the weather, so we were pleased to get the job finished while it was dry. The cows spent most of the week watching events unfold from the next field, seemingly keeping a close eye on quality control!

A few views and facts from Portsoy, one of the gems of the Banffshire coast and well worth a visit if you're staying at the Croft.

Portsoy's Old Harbour dates back to 1692 and is believed to be the oldest surviving harbour on the Moray Firth. The harbour and surrounding coastline are full of character.

The town is also famous for Portsoy Marble – a beautiful red and green stone that was once used in prestigious buildings across Europe. Visitors can still see local craftsmanship at the Portsoy Marble shop beside the harbour.

If you're planning a visit soon, the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival takes place next weekend (12th–14th June), when historic boats, crafts, music and food bring the harbour to life.

Portsoy is only around 30 minutes from the Croft and makes a great day out for anyone exploring the Moray Firth coast.
(Don't forget to visit the famous Portsoy Ice Cream shop while you're there!)

A wander round the loch at Fyvie Castle. The water was still enough to catch the clouds drifting over, broken now and then by the quiet movement of ducks along the edge. Lambs were out in the fields nearby, and the trees are just starting to show that fresh spring green again.

It’s an easy walk, but one you end up stretching out without meaning to, pausing here and there, watching the light change across the water or listening to the birds in the trees. There’s something about that mix of open parkland and woodland around Fyvie that always feels settled and unhurried.

It’s only a short drive from the Croft, and well worth taking your time over if you’re staying with us.

A simple afternoon, but the kind that stays with you.

Something new for our guests at Croft of Feith-hill
We’re delighted to have introduced a collection of bespoke pieces created especially for the croft, inspired by the croft itself and the wildlife around us.

From our new custom-designed coaster range to the handcrafted cottage sign and decorative touches, each item has been individually designed and made here at Feithhill Workshop.

We love adding details that make the croft feel even more personal and we hope our guests enjoy these unique Feithhill touches as much as we do.

We have been a bit quiet on Facebook but have been busy in the background. We have upgraded the shower over the bath to a walk in shower in the main bathroom. Our local joiner Steven has done a fantastic job!

With the harvest now complete at Feithhill, we took a well-earned day out to Gardenstown, one of northeast Scotland’s most charming coastal villages.
First stop: the Gardenstown Heritage Centre, located in the former Salmon House overlooking the harbour.
Then down to the harbour itself, bustling with colourful boats, hillside homes, and the kind of sea breeze that clears your head.
The coastline here is breathtaking, from rippling waves to rugged cliffs and working piers, it’s a place where nature and community meet.
Tucked between buildings, we found quiet alleyways and steep stone steps: reminders of the village’s timeless charm.
We paused to read about Seatown and its rich past: fisher families, storm-swept paths, and a community that’s always pulled together.
We stopped at Eli's, Craft, Cakes and Coffee for a delicious light lunch. Highly Recommended!
And ended the day with breathtaking views across the harbour, the sea stretching out to the horizon.
Gardenstown’s got charm, history, and a touch of magic.
If you’re staying at Croft of Feithhill, Gardenstown is just one of many gems waiting to be discovered.
Book your stay, relax, and let Scotland’s northeast work its magic.

What a difference a month can make! This year has been very hot and dry, crops have ripened faster and harvest has started. We have never been harvesting this early before!

Golden days at the croft 🌞🌾
The barley is thriving and beginning to take on its golden hue as harvest season draws near. It’s a fascinating crop—some of the finest grains are malted and used to make wh**ky. In fact, these very grains will end up in your dram of Glenlivet!
Watching the barley ripen offers a glimpse into the gentle rhythms of countryside life. If you're staying at the croft, you're in for a treat—there’s nothing quite like a peaceful summer stroll in the sunshine, surrounded by views like these.
