Set in the heart of the stunning Wye Valley just a few minutes walk from the river, Symonds Yat Cottages offers guests a fabulous, flexible location to holiday. Wye Valley Rooms composed of Jam Pots, an upper 1 double bed apartment with full self-catering facilities, lounge, family bathroom and furnished balcony and BBQ area. Both units have their own access. The two individual floors can be opened up internally to create a 2 bed cottage. Crossways Cottage is a traditional Cottage sleeping up to 6: 2 king bedrooms and 1 double. 1 bathroom and 1 shower room. Countryside views from every room yet minutes walk from great pubs and the forest. Perfect for friend groups and families alike. With excellent outdoors activities on the doorstep, bikers, hikers, ramblers and even just amblers have a wealth of choice. Canoeing, kayaking and SUP are particularly well-catered for, and when the river is safe there are even swim spots to cool off in. We even have gorging or axe-throwing, if that appeals! Within 10 minutes walk there are 5 good pubs - make that 6 if you fancy a trip on the hand-ferry to the Saracen's Head over the river. Most of the pubs sell very good food, and there's also an Indian restaurant, pan-Asian and pre-bookable Japanese garden restaurant all within walking distance, and many other country pubs a short drive away. Only slighty further afield are the quaint towns of Monmouth and Ross-On-Wye - both are walkable and very easily bikeable being 4 miles and 7 miles respectively. Being set on the edge of the Forest of Dean offers lots of opportunity for indoor activities and historical insights into it's industrial past which is very evident from endless industrial archaeology which is everywhere - now engulfed in heavy forest! There are distilleries and vineyards galore and of course, being home to so many producers, the Wye Valley C***r Route! This beautiful area really does have so much to offer for a short or extended break catering for all tastes and activity levels. It has the esteemed title of being the Birthplace of British Tourism and really does deserve that accolade!
