The herbaceous border is just starting to come into bloom. We did a fair amount of reshuffling in here last year, so interesting to see where we still have gaps to fill and what still needs to be moved. The vigorous and brilliantly flowered Geranium psilostemon is in the foreground.

The garden is open daily 10am - 5pm, tearoom 11am - 4pm serving home baking and light lunches. Parking is available in the NTS car park on Fairmount Terrace PH2 7AS with a 200m walk downhill to the garden. Limited blue badge parking at the garden gate PH2 7BB. Dogs welcome on short leads.

So it’s early June and there’s a dusting of snow on the Ben.

Last week we had a local visit from the Rotary in Ayr Club to our Prestwick hangar.

Ayr Rotary is part of Rotary International, the largest service organisation in the world, with over 1.2 million members. They are very active in the local community, running several major projects including the Rotary Beach Clean, Poppy Collection, Food bank and Message in a bottle.

The group thoroughly enjoyed themselves with the hangar tour and were really interested in how we support local young people develop into future careers with work experience opportunities, apprenticeships and trainee roles.
