Last Wednesday, some of our team headed to for a Gilpin festive afternoon tea takeover at The Bay, the college's student-run restaurant.

Working side-by-side with the students, our chefs guided them through preparing and serving a beautiful afternoon tea — from classic finger sandwiches and hand-made sausage rolls to freshly baked scones and a selection of sweet treats. Our Lake House team led the front-of-house training, helping students build confidence and refine their service skills as they served over fifty guests.

It was an incredible, hands-on afternoon, and we're very proud of our continued partnership with Lancaster & Morecambe College. Opportunities like these provide students with real-world experience, while giving our team the chance to share their skills and expertise.

A huge thank you to everyone involved — what a brilliant way to celebrate the season together.

Leading our dedicated Estate Team, you'll be responsible for maintaining our high standards of 5-star luxury across both Gilpin Hotel and Gilpin Lake House.

From ensuring our guests are treated to the most comfortable and well-maintained rooms possible, to spearheading innovative sustainability and new guest space projects, no two days will be the same.

Our Exec Chef Ollie Bridgwater has been awarded a Michelin Star for SOURCE (previously HRiSHi) while introducing a completely new menu and concept at Gilpin in just two months.

This is a testament to the hard work, passion, and dedication of the entire team at SOURCE, as part of the wider Team Gilpin.

Previously with Heston Blumenthal at the Fat Duck for almost a decade, Ollie is working with his team to introduce innovative technical skills alongside working with local farms and suppliers to ensure sustainability, ethical sourcing and nose-to-tail philosophy.
