A true railway legend is heading to Dorset! Don’t miss your chance to see the iconic Flying Scotsman in action at Swanage Railway from 23 October to 1 November. A fantastic half-term treat for railway enthusiasts and families alike! 🚂�

🚌 LAST DAY OF THE BUS SERVICE 🚌

Today is the last day of the Campsite Connect 35 bus service for 2026.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has used and supported the service this year. It’s been great to see so many of our guests making use of the bus to get out and explore the local area. 💙

We hope to see the service return again in 2027, and we’ll keep you updated with any news and progress for next year as soon as we have it.

So, if you’re staying with us today, it’s your last chance to hop on the bus for this season! 🚌🌳

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION ***
🔥 TEMPORARY CHARCOAL BBQ BAN 🔥

Due to the ongoing and unusually dry weather conditions, we have taken the precautionary decision to introduce a temporary ban on charcoal BBQs across the park.

With the current conditions creating an increased risk of fire, we feel this is necessary to help keep our guests, staff and surrounding forest safe. 🌲🔥

🚫 Charcoal BBQs are not permitted until further notice.

Gas BBQs and gas stoves are still permitted at this time, provided they are used responsibly and in accordance with the park rules. Please ensure they are kept on a stable surface and never left unattended.

We would also like to remind guests that, as per our park rules, we do not allow fire pits or open fires at any time of the year.

The restriction on charcoal BBQs will remain in place until conditions improve and the fire risk has been reassessed.

We appreciate that this may be disappointing, but we thank everyone for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep Wareham Forest Tourist Park safe. ❤️

🌑☀️ SOLAR ECLIPSE – WEDNESDAY 12 AUGUST ☀️🌑

Something pretty special is happening in the skies above Wareham Forest Tourist Park this Wednesday! 🌲✨

On Wednesday 12 August 2026, we’ll be able to see a partial solar eclipse, with around 90% of the Sun covered at its maximum.

📅 Wednesday 12 August 2026
🌤️ Eclipse begins: approximately 6:13pm BST
🌑 Maximum eclipse: approximately 7:14pm BST
🌅 Eclipse ends: approximately 8:08pm BST

The Sun will be getting quite low towards the west-northwest horizon, so if you want to watch it, try to find an open spot with a clear view in that direction.
