It is with great sadness we write to inform you that Carl's fight has come to an end.

Many of you will know the campsite has not been operating due to Carl's health since his colon cancer operation in December 2024.

Carl achieved so much in his 72 years. He left behind his wife, Fiona and boys Alastair and Connor.

Without a doubt his legacy is Summerfield Farm, he was rightly proud of establishing Summerfield Campsite, he wanted it to be a true family campsite where people could relax and enjoy our little piece of green and pleasant land.

We can't thank everyone enough for the support over the years since Carl and Fiona welcomed campers since 2014.

The family is taking time to discuss what the future of Summerfield Campsite will look like and will keep this community updated as soon as decisions have been made.

Dear friends and guests,

We have to share the news with you all that Summerfield Campsite will not be opening this year.

Some of you may be aware that Carl underwent a large operation back in December, and unfortunately, recovery hasn’t been as straightforward as we had initially hoped. As a family, we have decided to focus on his recovery over the coming months, rather than the campsite.

We know how much holidays at the campsite mean to so many of our returning guests, and we want to thank you all for your unwavering support over the years. It has been a privilege to welcome so many wonderful guests, and we look forward to opening our gates again in 2026 when Carl is back to full health.

Our self-catering apartments will be open as usual, so please do get in touch or book via booking.com if these are of interest.

As the camping season is starting to get a little more active, this is perhaps a useful moment to show our price list with our pitch fees unchanged from last year. Our 7 nights for the price of 6 makes it even cheaper. We look forward to seeing all our regular guests and some new faces.😀

Just as the weather was improving we backtrack to winter.
No matter, it will get better and if you are looking to start your camping season you could check out the Tilbrook Spring Fayre. As it says,

Well, as you can see, the grass is starting to grow and the campsite has dried sufficiently that the mower doesn't sink.
So get out the camping gear and start planning your holidays and weekends.
We are fully open - and so is the White Horse opposite.
We look forward to seeing you all during the season.

Hello all,
Our lack of familiarity with social media is showing through once again! We are appalling at monitoring our page and can see that there have been a number of comments enquiring about the status of the campsite. As posted last April, we are open for bookings and can confirm that it is not under new management. Fiona and I decided (after a degree of family and camper persuasion) to stay and continue from where we never left off.
So! You are all more than welcome to return to familiar faces (with a few more wrinkles) and sample the delights of our campsite - not forgetting the pub of course.............
