The Falcon is here again!🍺🎶

For generations, The Falcon pub was at the heart of village life here in Sotterley. Although its doors closed some years ago, we're delighted that our friends at FolkEast brought it back to life last year.

So why not step inside, raise a glass, enjoy the music, join in the dancing, and sing along with friends old and new? It's a wonderful way to celebrate the spirit and community that make FolkEast so special.

Join us in the beautiful grounds of Sotterley Hall for a weekend to remember – 21st, 22nd and 23rd August.

A special thank you to Emma Hald, our Farm Manager's wife, for kindly allowing us to share these wonderful photographs of The Falcon from last year's FolkEast festival. 📸

🍻🎶 See you at The Falcon!

Harvest Complete! 🌾 🚜

Our final crop of the season, spring barley, is now safely harvested, bringing this year's harvest to a close.

Despite the challenges of a hot, dry summer, we're incredibly proud of what our Farm Team has achieved. From the first field of rye to the last trailer of spring barley, it's been another harvest to remember.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us and followed this year's harvest. And, of course, to our fantastic Farm Team – Daniel, Stephen, Richard and Charlie – for their hard work and resilience.

Now... perhaps it's time for a well-earned rest! 🌾💚

Harvest Update 🌾🚜

Last week we finished harvesting this year's wheat – another big milestone reached.

The heat and prolonged dry weather have made this year's harvest especially challenging, not only because of the impact on crops across the country, but also for the farm teams working long days in the summer sunshine.

A huge thank you goes to Hollie and Ian at The Huntsman and Hounds for keeping our Farm Team going with delicious home-cooked dinners throughout harvest. Your flexibility and fantastic food have been so appreciated after those long days in the field.

Thank you, Hollie and Ian – you've helped keep the harvest rolling! 💚🌾

Harvest Update 🌾

Last week, we finished harvesting our rye crop – another milestone in this year's harvest! The grain has now begun its next journey, heading to our trusted grain merchant, Simpsons Malt, where it could go on to be used in milling, brewing or distilling.

From seed to harvest, it's always rewarding to see months of hard work leave the farm and begin the next stage of its journey🚜💚

FolkEast returns to the stunning Sotterley Estate, Suffolk, this August with one of the coolest line-ups of the summer!

England’s most easterly folk festival returns to its new home on the stunning Sotterley Estate. Among the artists announced are Richard Thompson with Zara Phillips, Eddi Reader, Elephant Sessions, Jiggy, The Waeve, Luke Wallace, Sam Kelly and the Lost Boys and festival patrons The Young’uns, along with new work from Tamsin Elliott and Tarek Elazhary.

But FolkEast is far more than a music festival. It showcases the very best the East has to offer in art, literature, talks, heritage, workshops, food and drink.

A fully fledged, family-friendly festival, FolkEast offers lots to see and to do, with plenty of room to relax and spend time in good company.
