It’s been a busy summer for the Rotary Club of Banbury Cherwell.

From raising £10,007 at this year’s Broughton Castle Sportive and a wonderful Rotary Children’s Fun Day, to welcoming a new member, supporting our RYLA candidate and beginning another Rotary year — there’s been plenty happening.

Last night we held our Annual General Meeting and officially began another Rotary year.

It was an opportunity to look back on a fantastic year of service, welcome Reena Das as a new member, and confirm our officers for 2026/27.

We were also delighted to announce that this year's Broughton Castle Sportive raised £10,007, taking the total raised by the event to more than £116,000 since it began. Thank you to everyone who has supported the Broughton Castle Sportive over the years.

Here's to another year of friendship, service and making a difference in our local community.

Summer Lecture 2026 – A Banbury MP's Story

We are pleased to be supporting this year's Summer Lecture at Broughton Castle.

Sir Tony Baldry will share his personal perspective on more than four decades in and around Westminster, reflecting on the Prime Ministers he worked alongside and Britain's changing relationship with Europe.

Guests are welcome to arrive from 5pm to enjoy the grounds and picnic before the lecture begins in the Great Hall at 7pm.

All proceeds will support Banbury Museum & Gallery and Rotary Club Banbury Cherwell.

3 weeks to go! Are you joining us on the 28th of June?

Three weeks from today, riders will be gathering at Broughton Castle ready for the start of the Broughton Castle Sportive 2026.

Some will be taking on 40km.
Some will be tackling 100km.
Others will be setting out on the 160km and 200km routes.

Whatever the distance, the challenge remains the same: a day on the bike through the Cotswolds, supported by volunteers who have spent months preparing for it.

Routes are marked, feed stations are planned, and preparations are well underway.

Sunday 28 June is nearly here.

Entries remain open.
