Can’t believe a whole month has passed since I hopped on the train to London to kick off the ultimate girls’ trip! 🚂✨ Marmaris and Rhodes delivered nothing but endless laughter, alot of sunshine and a chance to don a cossie, and the best vibes. 😂☀️👙
Honestly, what more could a girl ask for? Been meaning to post a few of our snaps so here goes!🇬🇷🇹🇷

"Beautiful and peaceful....."
Love the Western Lake District especially at this time of year when it's our off season. 🍂
Quieter roads, peaceful fells and having some places (almost) to yourself. ❤️

⏰ Don't forget!!!
The clocks go back 1 hour at 2am tonight.
The official end of UK summer time. 😕
But the good news is an extra hour in bed for our cottage guests and for the rest of us. 😁
Tomorrow I'll be busy changing all our clocks at the cottages, including these ones at Gosforth, once our guests check out and getting ready for our half term visitors.
Hope everyone's OK from these storms and wishing you all a restful Sunday. ❤️

The calm before the storm ⛈️
My go to for fresh sea air, cliff top views and a coffee with a view from . ☕️
Just look at it! 🤩
But won’t be hitting St Bees over the next few days with our first 2 Autumn named storms. Thought we’d escaped it in West Cumbria but then Storm Boleo is comimg along!

My plan - light the fire, grab a blanket and a glass of w**e, feet up on the sofa and binge watch Netflix!

Autumn Reset 🍂
After a busy summer you can sense a shift here in the Lake District. And just like the gorgeous Autumn colours we're enjoying at the moment, there's beauty in slowing down, letting go, focusing on home comforts like an open fire and candle light, brisk walks in this stunning landscape and a quieter vibe here in West Cumbria. I'm totally here for it. 🧡

The bad news? The rain has been absolute armageddon this past week! 🌧️

The good news? It’s mostly bucketed down overnight, and our waterfalls and rivers are looking absolutely spectacular right now! 😍

If you’re lucky enough to be here at the moment—or have a weekend escape planned (lucky you) — here are my top local waterway tips near our cottages:

• Stanley Ghyll: Walk in from either Birker Fell or Boot. There’s a massive viewing platform at the top that you won’t want to miss!
• Ritsons Force: Less of a single drop and more of a gorgeous series of tumbling waterways cascading downstream right at the back of Wasdale Head. The landscape here is stunning. ⛰️
• Blengdale Forest: (Or “The Bleng” as we locals call it!). An easy circular wooded walk which you can start in Gosforth right from Mill Cottage. It follows the River Bleng, complete with a lovely little viewing bench looking out over the woods below.
• If you’re heading into any of the valleys you’ll also find lots of little becks, mini waterfalls and the unmistakable sound of water rushing off the fells.
