Dernwood Farm, Re-wilding The Family

We are a family run working farm in the heart of the Sussex Weald, with luxury glamping, camping meadow in 70 acres of ancient woodland, cafe and shop All dog friendly, and campfires allowed!

Farm life doesn’t stop here at Dernwood despite the campsite being tucked up for winter.

We’re busy with our animals, whist settling into Autumn and the treasures it has to offer.

And just like that, another season at Dernwood Farm has come to an end 🌿

A huge thank you to everyone who came to stay with us this year. It’s been lovely welcoming so many new faces, alongside so many familiar ones who feel more like old friends than guests. ❤️

A wholesome, cosy woodland escape 🌳

Sleeping up to 5, The Cabin is made for slow mornings, country walks and cosy evenings tucked away in your own little corner of the farm.

🛏️ Travelling as a couple? Snuggle up in the double bed in the bedroom.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Coming as a family? Let the kids have the bedroom while you claim the sofa bed in the main space.

🔥 You’ll arrive to plenty of logs and kindling to get the wood-fired hot tub going, with more available to buy at reception.

🕯️ No electric lighting here, just Victorian oil lamps and solar lights, giving the Cabin its lovely warm, off-grid feel.

🚗 Leave your car in the car park, grab one of our trolleys or wheelbarrows and ferry your bags the 200m to the clearing. It’s all part of the adventure. 🌿

🛏️ Bedding & linen are provided - just bring your bath towels.

And then? Unpack, switch off and settle in. 🤎

A few things you might not know about Dernwood…

🌿 We’re a working family farm. Glamping & Camping is just part of what happens here.

🌳 There is 70 acres of woodland to explore, with plenty of space. We want our guests to immerse themselves as much as possible in nature and the land.

🍂 You can appreciate the seasonal changes around you, spend quality time with the people you love and step away from the usual routine of everyday life.

It’s a special corner of the Sussex Weald where you can slow down, get outside and reconnect with what matters.

And we’re still very much open for camping and glamping for the rest of 2026. Autumn is such a special time here 🍁

🍂 Autumn might just be our favourite time to camp at Dernwood…

The woods are changing colour, the evenings are drawing in and everything on the farm feels just a little bit quieter.

It’s the season for long walks, muddy boots, campfires and coming back to a cosy wood burner as the temperature drops outside. 🔥

Our autumn weekends have a completely different feel to the busy summer months — fewer people, peaceful mornings, crisp evenings and plenty of space to slow down.

So if you’re not quite ready to pack away your camping gear for the year, neither are we.

We’re in East Sussex, tucked away in the Sussex Weald - close enough for a seaside adventure, but far enough away to properly switch off.

A working farm, a little bit wild and a place to properly switch off. 🌳

We don’t have organised entertainment or rows of cars in our camping field.
Just space to roam, dens to build, wildlife to discover and nature right on your doorstep.

We’re also very much a campfire-enthusiast campsite 🔥 as soon as government restrictions are lifted, we’ll be ready to get those fires glowing again.
