🏰✨ Discover Wales' history for FREE this September!

Cadw’s Open Doors Festival is back, giving you the chance to explore historic buildings, castles, churches, gardens and hidden gems across Wales. With free entry, special events and guided tours at participating locations.

With more than 200 historic sites taking part throughout September, it’s a brilliant opportunity to discover somewhere new or revisit a favourite local attraction.

There are plenty of events across Mid and North Wales too, including Powis Castle, Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, Harlech Castle, Castell y Bere and many more. 🏰🌿

Some sites are only open to the public on selected dates, so it’s worth having a look through the full programme and planning a day out!

If you’re looking for a great day out this September, the Barmouth Walking Festival is taking place from 12th-21st September 2026, with a fantastic programme of guided walks exploring the beautiful landscapes of Barmouth and South Eryri.

There’s something for a range of abilities, from easier and moderate walks to more challenging full-day hikes, plus wellness walks and a programme of social events too.

It’s a brilliant opportunity to get outdoors, discover some stunning local scenery and enjoy everything this beautiful part of Wales has to offer. 🏔️🌊
