September has arrived, but there’s still plenty of time to squeeze a little more summer out of the year.

Long walks along the beach, sea views, quieter days and hopefully a few more glorious spells of sunshine. Weymouth is rather lovely once the summer crowds begin to thin out.

🍂 Autumn has arrived at The Roundhouse… and we rather love it! 🍁

The pumpkins are out, the colours are changing and The Roundhouse is feeling decidedly autumnal. 🎃

But September is actually one of our favourite times to visit Weymouth. The weather can still be beautifully warm and sunny, the beach is just moments away, but the summer crowds have begun to disappear and the town settles into a wonderfully calmer, more relaxed rhythm.

Long walks along the seafront, quieter cafés and restaurants, evenings by the harbour and plenty of time simply to enjoy Weymouth without the summer rush. 🌊🍂

If you fancy a little September escape to the coast, The Roundhouse is ready for autumn.

🎆 WOW, WEYMOUTH! 🎆

What an absolutely spectacular fireworks display over Weymouth Bay tonight! ✨

A huge thank you to Weymouth Town Council for putting on such an amazing show. The seafront looked incredible, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

And we may be a little biased... but there can’t be many better places to watch the Weymouth fireworks than from the comfort of The Roundhouse. 🥂🎇

Front-row views, without having to leave the building!

🌅⚓ EARLY MORNING IN WEYMOUTH ⚓🌅

While most of us were still fast asleep, Lisa was up in the early hours for a walk and captured this gorgeous view. 📸💜

The beautiful TS Pelican is currently moored just behind The Roundhouse, making an already rather special view across the harbour even better.

We never tire of looking out towards Nothe Fort, especially when Weymouth puts on a sky like this. 🌅⛵

It got us wondering...

Take a gentle stroll around the marina, pause for a few moments, and soak up the atmosphere. It's a reminder that Weymouth isn't just a seaside resort... it's a thriving maritime town with sailing at its heart.

The first, AI sharpened, photo shows a GWR 1366 Class 0-6-0PT (Pannier Tank) hauling a goods train on the famous Weymouth Harbour Tramway behind the Roundhouse.

​Quick Facts about No. 1369:

​The Class: Only six of these locomotives were ever built (1366–1371). They were designed with a short wheelbase specifically for tight curves like those found in docks and street tramways.​Survival: 1369 is the only member of its class that survived into preservation. It is currently a star attraction at the South Devon Railway, where it still runs today.(second image).
