Illuminated Whitby Abbey returns for Halloween 2026. 🎃

One of Whitby’s most atmospheric Halloween events is returning this October, as the ruins of Whitby Abbey are once again transformed after dark.

Illuminated Whitby Abbey 2026 will take place from Friday 23 to Saturday 31 October, with spectacular lighting bringing the dramatic Gothic ruins to life against the night sky.

Visitors can explore the Abbey after dark, enjoy food and drink on site, and take part in new interactive family performances inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

The event runs from 5.30pm to 9pm each evening and suits all ages.

With Whitby’s famous Dracula connections, towering Abbey ruins and Halloween atmosphere, it’s set to be one of the highlights of spooky season in the town. 🦇🏰

**Getting ready for Whitby Folk Week 🎶⚓**

We’re getting ready for one of the most anticipated festivals of the year in Whitby — **Whitby Folk Week begins on Saturday 22nd August!**

Here at **The Endeavour**, we’ll have our fabulous **Irish Sessions** and **lunchtime shanty sessions** for you to enjoy throughout the week.

Everyone is welcome — and we especially love seeing the dance teams, so please do pop in and pay us a visit. 🍻
