Please share. If you get to The Gallery Whitehead before the end of August 2026 there's two more interesting paintings of the lighthouse on show. They were created in just a few hours for the One Day Art Challenge, part of Whitehead Community Centre's very enjoyable Summer Festival.

A great entry by Ian Thomson showed perhaps a world first: Blackhead Lighthouse seen from inside somewhere else. Go see the picture: FREE entry! 19 Cable Road, BT38 9PY.

Maeve Donnelly entered a great watercolour study of the cliffs. Great colours in her ocean, her sky, and her cliffs. She moved the lighthouse right up to the top of the painting to give a sense of it being way above you.

The summer festival contest was won by a different-looking picture of the otherwise familiar Coloured Houses on the promenade by Steve Diamond. Thanks to the event sponsors - The Gallery Whitehead and Aaron Martin Photography and Framing.

Elsewhere in the gallery you'll find giant, vigorous views of the path painted by Steven McClean, and another artist's view of the lighthouse tower at the foot of the stairs. The main shows in the gallery change every month, so do visit again. Dexter the cat is another highlight.
