Spending the last couple of weeks staying and volunteering at Whithorn’s New Town Hall Hostel has been such a rewarding experience. Every day has brought something different — welcoming visitors, helping behind the scenes, meeting people from all over, and being part of something that genuinely supports the local community.

One of the highlights has been seeing first-hand the impact of the charity’s work. The New Town Hall is more than just a place to stay — it’s a welcoming space that brings people together and creates opportunities for connection and community.

Volunteering here has also given me a completely different way to experience Whithorn. It’s reminded me how much small acts of kindness and support can shape someone’s visit and make people feel welcome.

I’ve loved getting to know the team, the local community, and everyone passing through along the way.
