Willingham is so lucky to have so many small independent businesses, of which several are pubs, cafes and restaurants and we really want to keep it this way.
These small businesses are quite often at the heart of your community, they are there to help you celebrate, commiserate, wind down, relax and have fun.
They bring people together and bring life to the village, the surrounding area and indeed across the country but they're under huge pressure from rising costs.
The squeeze on small businesses is becoming too great for many and we are seeing far too many close and struggle unnecessarily as they are being taxed more, charged higher non domestic rates, forced to pay escalating energy costs..the list is endless.

Here in the UK we pay one of the highest VAT rates in Europe. 20% extra in VAT for your pint, meal out or stay away. In France, Spain and Italy, it's 10%. In Germany it's just 7%. The industry isn't asking for a handout, they are asking for fairness. An ability to trade, grow their business, take a wage and prosper. The cut in VAT will allow so many businesses not only to survive but reinvest and even thrive. Surely this is what the small business owner deserves?

Our message to the Government is simple. Let's stand together to say VAT at 10% is fair for hospitality. By supporting each other our voice will be louder and hopefully someone somewhere will hear us and make a change.

Please spend two minutes signing the petition and please share.
Thank you

We have two great additions to our draughts choice:

1664 Blanc - A new French wheat beer 5% but with a light fruity flavour- their choice of glass may divide opinions though!

Henry Weston's Vintage Cider- Their medium dry sparkling cider at 5.2% is flavoursome but not too strong and a perfect thirst quencher for this weather!
