Walking the Cotswold Way is one of those slow, scenic adventures that feels good for the soul.
The trail runs 102 miles from Chipping Campden down to Bath, winding through rolling hills, quiet villages, woodland paths and those incredible views you never quite get tired of 🌳🌿
You don’t have to walk the whole thing! Most people pick out smaller sections. Think Broadway Tower to Winchcombe, Winchcombe to Cleeve Hill, or the Winchcombe Way circular route if you want a gentler day out.
Heading south from the official start marker, you’ll reach Winchcombe at around the 17.5/18 mile mark, usually the end of a full first day of hiking. It’s a lovely place to land: surrounded by Belas Knap, Sudeley Castle and Cleeve Hill, with cafés, pubs and plenty of spots to rest tired legs.
And if you’re staying over, all the Feather Cotswold Cottages sit close to the trail, offering a cosy base where you can stretch out, sip something warm, and reset.
Top Tip:
Before you set off, download your maps!… the Cotswolds give you scenery, not signal.
