Table for six, please! One of us will just have a Guinness.🍺🐾

Nothing beats a Sunday lunch with good company, delicious food and a pint or two at The King Alfred!

Sitting ever so patiently, waiting for his Sunday roast to arrive, with one ear firmly tuned in to the conversation just in case he hears the magic words… “Who’s a good boy?” ❤️

Is this miserable weather getting you down? 🌧️

We’ve got the perfect recipe for beating those autumn blues at The King Alfred! 🍂

Think freshly cooked food, your favourite tipple and a cosy little corner to settle into with a board game (and maybe a little friendly competition!) 🎲🍷

Sometimes the best plans involve staying firmly indoors, getting comfortable and letting us look after you.

Come in, warm up and make yourself at home! ❤️

Who’s coming to our HOWL-O-WEEN party? 👻🐶

15/10/2026

Just a few of our recent four-legged visitors… 🐾

Billy 🎃, Nushka ⌚️ and Bentley 💤

One’s looking very smart with a fresh trim and a rather fetching bandana, one’s patiently waiting for her human to finish work, and then there’s Bentley… who, let’s be honest, appears to have peaked a little too soon! 😂

We love seeing all your lovely pooches at The King Alfred — they certainly bring plenty of personality to the place! 🐶❤️

🎃 **And speaking of dressing up…** don’t forget our Halloween event! Bring your pups along in their finest spooky clobber — we want to see their tricks, and we’ll have plenty of treats! 👻🐾

They came. They saw. They conquered the specials board. 🦐

Our Garlic & Parsley Butter Roasted Whole Prawns have proved far too popular to get rid of, so they’ve earned themselves a permanent spot on the main menu.

Three for the more restrained among you… five for those who know that three prawns is really just a warm-up.
Served with crusty bread for the very important business of mopping up the garlic butter.

Yum!

October apparently didn’t get the memo. ☀️
Not complaining though… there are definitely worse ways to spend an afternoon than tea in the garden. 🫖
