High Borrans Lodges are located on a traditional working hill farm close to Windermere, in the Lake District. The farm and lodge site are run by Cathy and Jonathan Hodgson and their family. The lodge park is small, private and enclosed and is ideal for quiet, relaxing, rural breaks. Although we are a quiet peaceful lodge park, we are within a 10 minute drive of Windermere.

Seven individually styled lodges, one handcrafted shepherd's hut and plenty of peaceful countryside to wake up to.

Perhaps you love Grove's bright, open-plan space and rural views. Maybe Holt's woodland-inspired interior feels more like you. Travelling with your dog? One of the best parts of staying at High Borrans? The adventure does not have to begin with a long drive. 🥾

The farm connects with a network of footpaths and bridleways leading towards Kentmere and Troutbeck, while Garburn Pass opens up routes towards Ill Bell, Froswick and High Street. Prefer a gentler day? Lake Windermere is around 10 minutes away, and nearby Staveley is perfect for a browse and a bite to eat.

A trip to the Lake District isn't complete without spending some time on the water. 🚤

From Windermere Lake Cruises to rowing boats, paddleboards and lakeside walks, there are plenty of ways to enjoy England's largest lake.

Many of our guests head down to Bowness or Ambleside for a few hours by the water before returning to the peace and quiet of the farm.

It's one of those days out that suits just about everyone and gives you a chance to see the Lake District from a different perspective.
