Our regular visitors will know that the Bell Hotel is enjoyed by some of our local Masonic Lodges. As an organisation, the Freemasons gather to socialise, perform charitable work and support many local causes. In the UK alone they raised over £51 million for charitable causes last year.
This month one of our local masons, Ewan Gordon - a member of the Fairway Lodge - is raising much needed funds for the Masonic Charitable Foundation and Bucks Mind by taking part in the 2026 Rough Ashlar Challenge.
Participants of the challenge commit to having a rough stone (an "ashlar") chained to their wrist for the entire month, only removing it to sleep, drive or shower. The weight of the stone serves as a constant, visible reminder of the invisible burdens and heavy mental health challenges that many men carry silently every day.

Today we remember VE Day 🇬🇧
A moment to reflect on history and community. The Bell Hotel has stood at the heart of Winslow since Tudor times, welcoming travellers and locals alike for centuries.
Join us today for a drink or meal as we raise a glass together to celebrate VE Day on May 8th 1945 - marking the formal acceptance of N**i Germany’s unconditional surrender, ending World War II in Europe.
