This post is about celebrating the "family" side of our family business ❤️ and as a little reminder amongst the noise that there are some truly amazing people doing really good things in the world. She is too humble to shout about it, so we will!
This weekend Laura did something amazing. As if her summer hasn't been busy enough between helping to run a family holiday business and also her work as a firefighter in the hottest summer on record! She and 4 colleagues from Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service headed off to Atlanta, Georgia. They were part of a group of 343 firefighters from across the UK and Ireland who flew over to take part in the United9/11Climb along with over 1,200 of their American colleagues. Climbing the equivalent of 110 floors, the height of the World Trade Centre, in full firefighting kit, paying tribute to the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives 25 years ago in the 9/11 attacks, in this incredibly powerful and significant act of remembrance. They are also raising vital funds for amazing charities supporting emergency services workers. We will link in our bio and stories if you want to donate. Well done to everyone, absolute heroes.

So much more to share beyond these highlights. Summer availability still and into Autumn for those wanting a relaxing break in the Suffolk countryside. We have two-bedroom lake lodges and one-bedroom igluhuts available. Yoga classes on Wednesday and Saturday morning on our outside yoga platform. Massages in your cabin. Hire bikes and explore the local area. Come and join us in Suffolk, less than two hours from London by train.

Everything is still looking so beautiful here around the lake. The long wild grasses look golden rather than dry, the waterlilies still open every morning and close after lunch. Colourful dragonflies and butterflies zipping around and the gentle splash and bubbles of water in the lake as the fish, birds and other residents go about their days. 🐦 🦋
With the sad fires happening in Dunwich and around the country we wanted to reassure all of our guests, current and future, that we are safe and unaffected. We take our guests safety seriously and life continues here, albeit at a slightly slower pace on these warm summer days. We have availability for last minute escapes in our lodges and igluhuts. Picnic by the lake, stretch with yoga, sundowner on your terrace. Saunas open as normal and honesty shop stocked with delicious local treats. Did you know you can be here in less than two hours from London? Come and embrace the Summertime 🌞 ☀️

Did you spot us on Escape to the Country on ? They also popped into for one of their delicious sausage rolls (we know, they are a big seller in our honesty shop!) and mention the fabulous and the cycle routes they have created. It's always lovely seeing our beautiful towns, villages and countryside coming to life on-screen and even more exciting when you see your own place. Thanks for including us!

We have one lake lodge available this weekend 24th July, and it is this one, Russet Lodge, right on the water. After that, our next weekend availability is from 7th August. Come and experience a few days away from it all with a focus on rest, relaxation and nature at the heart of everything we do. Less than two hours from London, a short drive to the beach and surrounded by so many wonderful places that the Suffolk Coast has to offer.

Celebrating the longest day and the Summer solstice surrounded by wildflowers and golden sunshine. Heatwave incoming but it always feels joyful in Suffolk. Cool off in the sea, enjoy fresh countryside air and nowhere else to have to be.
