☀️ A lunchtime walk taking in Woolacombe’s three beaches on a sunny late-September Monday. The tide was out, but there were still plenty of surfers enjoying the waves. 🏄‍♂️🌊

Over on Barricane Beach, work has started on Barricane Beach, Woolacombe as they get ready to move the cafe off the beach for its winter hibernation. Today is their last day of opening for the year.

As summer comes to an end, there’s still plenty to enjoy in Woolacombe. 🍂☀️

📷 A little trip down memory lane… 🌊🏖️

While having a clear-out recently, we came across a print of a photo of Woolacombe beach huts from early September 2008.

It’s amazing to see just how similar the beach huts looked then compared with early September 2026! 😊

As the beach huts are now being taken down and stored away for the winter, it’s a lovely reminder that they’ll be back next summer — ready for more sunny days and memories to be made. ☀️🌊🏖️

Looking forward to seeing them back on Woolacombe Beach again next year!

🐴 Trying something new in Woolacombe! 🐴

We recently tried something totally new to us and went horse riding — and we really enjoyed ourselves!

We walked from Woolacombe Apartment to Woolacombe Riding Stables, which took about 10 minutes, and enjoyed an hour-long session. Around 30 minutes was spent in the outdoor arena, followed by about 30 minutes riding one of the trails through the stables’ land.

The instructors were excellent and very patient with us, explaining everything clearly and making us feel at ease. A big thank you to Hannah for her guidance. 😊

We were in a mixed-ability group of six, including both adults and children, and everyone apart from us had ridden before. Despite being complete beginners, we really enjoyed the experience.

The stables offer a variety of sessions for different abilities, and we are a little envious of the more experienced riders who can potentially enjoy riding along the beach! 🏖️🐎

A big thank you to the whole team who looked after us — and, of course, to the horses we rode. 🐴

We were far too busy concentrating to take any photos while we were on horseback, but here are a couple from before we mounted up and after our session. 📷

If you’re staying in Woolacombe and fancy trying something a little different, this is definitely worth considering!
