Built around five original Pullman-style railway carriages, The

Sidings invites you to dine, stay, and relax right beside the East Coast Main Line. Founded in 1985 by a former railwayman, The Sidings was born out of a passion for trains and a love for hospitality. Some of the carriages have been converted into a cosy, character-filled restaurant, with tables overlooking the track. Others have been transformed into charming guest rooms, including a luxurious four-poster suite โ€” perfect for a one-of-a-kind stay. Guests can also enjoy our monthly Greek Nights, held on the last Friday of every month. These popular evenings feature live Bouzouki music, a hot & cold buffet, traditional Greek desserts, and a fun, friendly atmosphere thatโ€™s perfect for celebrations or just a memorable night out. With great sadness, weโ€™re sending our heartfelt condolences to Barry and his family following the sudden passing of his wife, Sarah.

Barry and Sarah have been regular guests at The Sidings for many years, and over that time they became much more than customers to us.

They are part of the Sidings family.

We are all deeply saddened by Sarahโ€™s passing. Our thoughts and love are with Barry, his family and everyone who knew and loved Sarah at this incredibly difficult time.
