EDIT Power has now been restored. We certainly felt a community spirit around the park this morning. Thank you everyone.

Unfortunately, the power cut affecting our park is part of a wider outage across the area caused by Storm Boelo.

We have reported the issue to Northern Powergrid, but they are currently unable to give us an estimated time for power to be restored. Their teams are working to assess the damage and restore supplies as soon as it is safe to do so.

If you’d like to keep track of the situation yourself, you can visit www.northernpowergrid.com/power-cuts for the latest updates. You can also register to receive updates directly to your phone or call 105 for information.

In the meantime, Northern Powergrid recommends keeping fridge and freezer doors closed as much as possible and using torches rather than candles.

We’re really sorry for the disruption to your stay. We appreciate your patience and understanding while Northern Powergrid works to restore the electricity. Unfortunately, the situation is completely out of our hands.

🎃 PUMPKIN PICKING SEASON IS HERE!

If an autumn break isn’t complete without choosing the perfect pumpkin, there are plenty of places to do just that within easy reach of Robin Hood.

🎃 Cedar Barn
Their pumpkin patch opens from Saturday 10 October — grab a wheelbarrow and head out to choose your pumpkin ready for Halloween. They’ll also have their Ghost Train running at weekends from 10 October, and then daily from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November. 👻🚂

🎃 The Balloon Tree, Gate Helmsley
Traditional pumpkin picking with wheelbarrows and plenty of pumpkins to choose from.

🎃 The Great Yorkshire Pumpkin Patch at Monk Park Farm
Thousands of pumpkins in different shapes, colours and sizes, plus plenty of autumn fun.

🎃 Castle Howard
Combine an autumn visit with their Pesky Pumpkin Trail around the House.

Muddy wellies, pumpkins and something warm to drink afterwards… sounds like a pretty good October day to us. 🍂☕

📅 THINKING AHEAD TO 2027?

We know 2026 isn’t over yet, but some of you are already getting next year’s holidays in the diary - especially the Easter holidays.

Our 2027 holidays are bookable now, so if you already know when you would like to visit Robin Hood next year, you don’t need to wait.

Booking early gives you the best choice of dates and pitches — particularly if you’re tied to school holidays or have a favourite time of year to visit us.

🍂 THE FIRST SIGNS OF AUTUMN

There’s something lovely about this time of year in North Yorkshire.

The roads are a little less busy, the countryside is beginning to change colour and you can spend the day exploring before heading back to the caravan for a cosy evening.

And because Robin Hood is peaceful throughout the season, you don’t have to wait for autumn to find the quieter side of caravan holidays here — but the changing scenery certainly gives us another reason to love September/October. 🍁

🚂 ONE FOR THE STEAM FANS THIS WEEKEND

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway’s Annual Steam Gala takes place from Thursday 24 to Sunday 27 September.

With visiting locomotives, home-fleet steam engines and four days of heritage railway action, it could be a very good weekend to be staying with us!

Pickering Station is around half an hour from Robin Hood, making us a handy base if you’re planning a day on the railway.

Who have we got following us who never tires of the sight and sound of a steam train? 🚂

🎒 A BIG WEEK AHEAD

Chatting to some of our younger guests over the Bank Holiday weekend, we discovered that a couple will be starting in reception class tomorrow, while others are preparing for their very first day at secondary school.

There was a lovely mix of nerves and excitement in our conversations (and that was just the parents), and we would like to wish every one of them the very best for their first day. We look forward to hearing all about it when you next visit us!

To all our younger guests heading back to school/college, whether you are starting somewhere new or returning for another year, we hope you have a happy and successful school year ahead. 💛
