Before it became THE MONK, it was someone’s home.

The first faces you see are three generations of the family who once lived within these walls.

As you continue, you will discover the icon corner, a sewing machine that still works, an old oil lamp, and treasured objects that have remained part of the house through the years.

When THE MONK was created, we chose not to erase the past, but to let it become part of its future.

Today, guests from around the world create new memories here, while living among those that came before.

Some houses are restored.
Others are remembered.

A small number remain available through THE MONK.

The first chapter of an ongoing collection.

A house with a soul.
A recognition for its journey.

We are honoured that THE MONK Leros has received the Gold Award for Hospitality Rebirth at the Interior Awards 2026.

What began as an old island house became a place of stillness, light and belonging.

Created with care, respect for heritage, and a deep connection to the spirit of Leros, THE MONK continues its journey as a living house shaped by those who imagine it, create it and experience it.

This recognition belongs to everyone who helped bring THE MONK to life.

And to every guest who became part of its story.

House with a soul.

Awarded, grateful, and looking forward to welcoming you to Leros.

Some places are remembered by what you see.
Others by what you feel.

Linen against the skin.
Bare feet on cool floors.
A slower rhythm.
