This year as well, the uniforms of Kinsterna were designed by Denise Eleftheriou Atelier incorporating details and accessories created in collaboration with the Benaki Museum branch NIMA – MENTIS Antonopoulos.

Following her exhibition “Threads in Garment” at NIMA, elements of this collaboration and the connection between tradition and contemporary clothing design are also carried into Kinsterna, in a way that naturally reflects the character and philosophy of the estate.

Και φέτος, τις στολές του Kinsterna σχεδίασε η Denise Eleftheriou Atelier εντάσσοντας λεπτομέρειες και αξεσουάρ που δημιουργήθηκαν σε συνεργασία με το παράρτημα του Μουσείου Μπενάκη ΝΗΜΑ – ΜΕΝΤΗΣ Αντωνόπουλος.

Μετά την προσωπική της έκθεση «Νημάτων ΕΝΔΥΜΑ» στο ΝΗΜΑ, στοιχεία αυτής της συνεργασίας και της σύνδεσης της παράδοσης με το σύγχρονο ένδυμα μεταφέρονται και στο Kinsterna, με τρόπο που ταιριάζει φυσικά με τον χαρακτήρα και τη φιλοσοφία του κτήματος.

The coastline of Laconia is home to some of the region’s most beautiful beaches.

Damos, with its turquoise waters, Pavlopetri, where the world’s oldest submerged city lies beneath the surface of the sea, Agios Nikolaos beach, Ambelakia with its long sandy beach, and Elafonisos, known throughout Greece for its crystal-clear waters, are just a few of them.

Η ακτογραμμή της Λακωνίας φιλοξενεί μερικές από τις ομορφότερες παραλίες της περιοχής.

At Kinsterna, our connection to the natural environment is reflected through small everyday actions.

To mark World Environment Day, members of the Kinsterna team took part in a beach clean-up at Moukala, a small cove near the estate where sea turtles nest.

During the initiative, 20 large bags of litter were collected from the shoreline.

Στο Kinsterna, η σχέση με το φυσικό περιβάλλον εκφράζεται μέσα από μικρές καθημερινές πράξεις.

Με αφορμή την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Περιβάλλοντος, μέλη της ομάδας του Kinsterna συμμετείχαν σήμερα στον καθαρισμό της παραλίας Μουκάλα, ενός μικρού κολπίσκου κοντά στο κτήμα όπου φωλιάζουν θαλάσσιες χελώνες.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της δράσης συγκεντρώθηκαν 20 μεγάλες σακούλες απορριμμάτων που είχαν συσσωρευτεί στην ακτή.

June brings warmer and longer days to Kinsterna.

More time is spent by the pool with something cold nearby, the sea becomes part of daily life again, and summer slowly settles into the estate.

Around the gardens, the beehives enter their busiest season, while evenings outdoors last a little longer around the tables of Kinsterna.

Καθώς ο Ιούνιος φέρνει συνήθως πιο ζεστές και μεγάλες μέρες, οι επισκέπτες μας επιλέγουν να περάσουν τη μέρα τους στις πισίνες του αρχοντικού με ένα δροσερό ποτό ή να κάνουν βουτιές στις γύρω παραλίες της περιοχής.

Παράλληλα, οι κυψέλες μπαίνουν στην πιο δραστήρια περίοδο της χρονιάς, οι συκιές και τα αμπέλια ξεκινούν να ωριμάζουν τους καρπούς τους, ενώ τα δείπνα στους εξωτερικούς χώρους των εστιατορίων γίνονται ακόμα πιο ευχάριστα καθώς η θερμοκρασία είναι ιδανική.

Το καλοκαίρι ξεκινά και επίσημα στο κτήμα.

The blossom honey is produced from Kinsterna’s own beehives and served daily at breakfast, remaining part of everyday life on the estate.

Ever wondered where the name “Kinsterna” comes from?

The word originates from the Byzantine Greek “kinsterna”, meaning cistern, the covered water tanks once used to collect rainwater.

For centuries, these cisterns were an important part of life in Monemvasia, where water and the landscape have always been closely connected.

Αναρωτηθήκατε ποτέ από πού προέρχεται το όνομα «Kinsterna»;

Είναι αντιδάνειο από την ελληνική λέξη «Κύστη», δηλαδή υπόγεια δεξαμενή, και τη ρωμαϊκή «Στέρνα».

Για αιώνες, οι κινστέρνες αποτελούσαν σημαντικό μέρος της ζωής στη Μονεμβασιά, όπου το νερό ήταν πάντα στενά συνδεδεμένο με τη γη και την καθημερινότητα.

This time of year marks the beginning of the mulberry harvest on the estate.

They are served at breakfast and later become part of the seasonal desserts prepared by the kitchen team.

Αυτή την εποχή ξεκινά η συλλογή των μούρων στο κτήμα.
