Today, we’re sharing a little of their experience at ELaiolithos — their words, their smiles, and the happiness of being here again.

Some guests arrive as visitors.
And somehow, over the years, they become part of the ELaiolithos story.

Then, this afternoon, Naxos gave us another reason to stop and look up.

A crystal-clear sky, clouds drifting across the afternoon light, and the Drymalia valley stretching below us.

FALL SERIES — OCTOBER 5 🍂

A day at ELaiolithos can taste like this. ❤️

Today, our guests stepped into the kitchen for our Naxian cooking class — learning about local ingredients, cooking together, and then sitting down to enjoy what they created.

But the best part? Hearing them talk about the experience in their own words.

And after lunch, it was time to wander through nearby Filoti — one of the beautiful villages of central Naxos, with its narrow streets, little cafés, local life and mountain surroundings.

This is what we love about October here.

Not rushing from one attraction to another, but cooking, tasting, wandering, meeting local people and discovering Naxos at your own pace.

FALL SERIES — OCTOBER 4 🍂

What makes a stay at ELaiolithos special is not only the views.

It is the story behind the place.

Every woven textile you see throughout ELaiolithos was made by my mother, by hand, on her loom.

The tradition continues in our family. My mother, my sister-in-law and my niece still weave together — not to sell, but to keep our family traditions alive.

Some of the textiles are being made for Maria’s dowry, just as generations of women in Naxos have done before them.

Then there is Chalkio — our nearby village, where we stroll, meet familiar faces and continue to live surrounded by the traditions of Naxos.

And all of this is part of what you experience when you stay with us.

You wake up to the views, walk through the villages, discover the island at your own pace, and come back to a place where the stories are still being lived.

This is ELaiolithos. This is our Naxos. And in October, you can be here to experience it. ❤️

ALL SERIES — OCTOBER 3

A little taste of Naxos today. 🤍

Starting with galatopita (γαλατόπιτα) — a traditional Greek milk pie, a simple, rustic dessert made primarily with goat milk, semolina, eggs, sugar and usually cinnamon. Creamy, comforting and absolutely delicious!

Then a stroll through Chalkio, one of the beautiful villages nearby, before returning to ELaiolithos and those views that never seem to look the same twice.

And then, our guests coming back from hiking Mount Zeus — tired, happy, and ready to enjoy the view all over again.

A day of eating, wandering, walking and coming home.

This is October at ELaiolithos. 🤍

Some days, October gives you clouds.
Some days, it gives you blue skies.

There is something about October light in the mountains.

But October at ELaiolithos is not only about the views. It is about long afternoons on the terrace, people exploring adjacent villages, and then gathering, music playing, dancing, and simply enjoying being here. ❤️ The landscape changes every day. It is in the olive trees around us, the fertile Drymalia valley, the cheeses made by our family, the w**e from our own local producers, the ingredients grown nearby, the recipes passed from one generation to the next, and the generous way we welcome people to our table.
