Ever wondered where the blue of the sky and sea comes from? 💙

Sunlight contains all the colors of the rainbow. 🌈
In the atmosphere, blue light scatters more than the other colors, making the sky blue.

In the sea, water absorbs the reds and yellows more easily, while blue light travels deeper and reaches our eyes — giving the sea its beautiful blue and turquoise shades. 🌊

At sunset, sunlight travels through much more atmosphere, scattering away most of the blue and leaving behind those magical reds, oranges and golds. 🌅

And knowing the science doesn’t spoil the magic of a Santorini sunset.

It makes it even more beautiful. ❤️
