Opening of the 69th Dubrovnik Summer Festival!

By raising the Libertas Festival Flag accompanied with the sounds and lyrics of The Hymn of Freedom on Tuesday, July 10, at 21:00 in front of St. Blaise's Church, the 69th Dubrovnik Summer Festival will officially be opened and traditionally held until August 25th.If you are into art, music, theatre or culture in general you will surely find something in the rich and varied program in a festival that lasts for an impressive 47 days!

Fun fact: Dress rehearsal for the ceremony will be held tonight, 9 July at midnight, as an indispensable and always interesting part of the Festival which traditionally attracts numerous citizens of Dubrovnik and their guests.

Today Dubrovnik is getting ready for the big football match, Croatia vs Russia in the quarter finals of the 2018 World Cup. For this big event you’ll ned a big screen and the City of Dubrovnik have announced that they will install a special huge screen on the Stradun for the game.

The match will be projected on the facade of Luza above the small Onofrio fountain at the end of the Stradun (start 19:30) and to make sure that the atmosphere is even more thumping a DJ will warm up the crowds before the game.

The City of Dubrovnik invites everyone to come to the Old City and watch the match on a huge video wall inside the ancient city walls, the perfect way to cheer on Croatia in the World Cup adventure.💪💪

There are many kinds of love that we are celebrating in Dubrovnik on International Kissing Day ❤️(Friday, 6th of July), so grab the one (or ones) you love and come to St.Blaise's Church at 7PM to listen to Libertas choir on Stradun, and from 8PM post a photo from our Kissing Bench on Porporela with 💋 💋
Everyone who takes a photo on the Kissing Bench can also get a polaroid from Magic Mirror as a souvenir.
