July is one of the most exciting times to visit Vis Island, as the annual Vis Cultural Summer fills the island with live music, theatre performances, art exhibitions, and cultural events in beautiful outdoor venues, historic churches, village squares, and even ancient fortresses. A stay at puts you within easy reach of the famous Blue Cave (Modra Špilja) on nearby Biševo Island. Located just a short journey from Vis, the experience begins with a scenic boat trip from Komiža, approximately 12 km from 1901 On Sea. From there, it's a quick ride across to Biševo, where you'll discover a sea cave unlike any other.

Around midday, sunlight enters through an underwater opening, illuminating the cave in a spectacular, glowing blue light that seems almost unreal. It's one of the Adriatic's most photographed attractions. Once you see it, you will understand why.

💡 Our tip: Book an early departure and aim to arrive before 11am. The light conditions are at their best and you'll avoid the longer queues that build later in the day.
