🌱 Áprilisban új rajnai rizling oltványokat telepítettünk egy kiváló adottságú badacsonyi dűlőnkben, a Gróf dombon. A most még apró növények néhány év múlva már a Villa Sandahl borainak következő fejezetét írják majd.

🌧 Az elmúlt napok esői most különösen nagy értéket jelentenek számunkra. A frissen telepített oltványoknak ilyenkor minden csepp víz segítség: támogatja a gyökerek fejlődését, segíti a megerősödésüket, és biztosabb alapot teremt a jövőbeli növekedéshez. 🍃

🌱 In April, we planted new Riesling vines in one of our outstanding vineyard sites in Badacsony, on Gróf Hill. These tiny plants may look modest today, but in a few years they will be writing the next chapter in the story of Villa Sandahl wines.

🌧 The rains of the past few days have been especially valuable for us. For newly planted vines, every drop of water helps: it supports root development, strengthens the young plants, and provides a more secure foundation for future growth. 🍃

⚡️Van az a pillanat, amikor egy Rajnai Rizling egyszer csak megérkezik.
Amikor a friss gyümölcsösség mögött elkezdenek megmutatkozni azok a mélyebb, érettebb rétegek is, amik miatt újra és újra vissza akar térni hozzá az ember.
✨️ A 2022-es Roses Darling borunk most pont ebben a gyönyörű állapotban van.
A napsütötte évjárat érett citrusos és virágos jegyei mellé az elmúlt időszak szépen odasimította a Rajnai rizling legizgalmasabb aromáit is: finom petrolosságot, lágy mézességet, csendes fűszerességet. Mindezt a Badacsony visszafogott ásványossága tartja egyensúlyban.

☀️ Ahogy újra megérkezett a friss, tavaszias idő, mi egy kicsit megállunk egy pillanatra, és visszatekintünk a korábbi évjáratokra. Van valami különleges abban, amikor egy palackban évről évre tovább él a Badacsony, és az idő nem elvesz, hanem hozzáad.

🐦 A Birdie Num Num 2019 pontosan ilyen élmény számunkra. Ez a Rajnai rizling az elmúlt évek alatt szépen kisimult, mélyebb rétegeket mutat, miközben megőrizte lendületét és feszes savgerincét. Citrusos, köves karaktere mellé ma már finom mézesség és érettebb gyümölcsök társulnak...egy bor, ami emlékeztet arra, milyen izgalmas dolog figyelni az idő munkáját a palackban.
Mi szeretjük újra és újra elővenni ezeket a régebbi tételeket, mert minden korty egy kicsit más történetet mesél.

🐦 Birdie Num Num 2019 is exactly this kind of experience for us. Over the years, this Riesling has beautifully evolved, revealing deeper layers while preserving its vibrant energy and firm acidity. Alongside its citrusy, mineral character, delicate notes of honey and riper fruits have now emerged... a wine that reminds us how exciting it is to witness the work of time inside the bottle.

Yesterday we had an interesting comparison :
- 2023 Wachau Durnsteiner Kellerberg Riesling Smaragd from FX Pichler.
- 2023 Hungarian Badacsony Riesling Rare Peak Soft Feathers from Sandahl.
This was a challenge on purpose, because the Pichler has got almost 100 points from many reliable critics. And I must admit, the Pichler was a bit fuller in its character, and we was beaten by a couple of points. But not too bad to be in the high nineties ! Cheers !
