🌋 TRAVEL UPDATE – MOUNT ANAK KRAKATAU

Mount Anak Krakatau, located in the Sunda Strait between Java and Sumatra, in South Lampung, has experienced increased volcanic activity. (Badan Geologi)

The volcanic ash has affected air traffic in parts of Indonesia, with some flights cancelled or rescheduled.

Dear Guests and Friends,

We would like to share a brief update regarding the earthquake that occurred this morning, 15 August 2026, in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The earthquake, initially reported at magnitude 7.7, was centered near Nagekeo in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, quite some distance from Bali. The tremor was felt in several areas, including Lombok and parts of Bali, including Denpasar.

Most importantly, Bali was not the epicenter of the earthquake, and there have been no reports indicating significant earthquake damage in Bali from this event.

Following the earthquake, BMKG issued a temporary tsunami early warning for several areas. The tsunami warning has now officially ended, following further monitoring.

We understand that news of a major earthquake can be concerning, especially for those currently travelling in Bali or planning their holiday here. We would therefore like to reassure our guests that life in Bali continues as normal, and there is currently no tsunami warning requiring evacuation in Bali.

Our team at Dyana Villas continues to monitor official information from BMKG and will keep our guests informed should there be any important developments.

For now, we encourage everyone to remain calm, stay informed through official sources, and continue enjoying your time in Bali. 🌺
