๐ These mango fruits are unique and you can only eat them at MahaRaja ๐
๐ There are over 500 mango fruit varieties in the world, with different colors such as red, orange, yellow and green.
๐จ The color of a mango fruit is not an indicator of being ripe. A green mango can be ripe, succulent, sweet and with flavor. We can vouch for that
๐ค We are blessed as we have wild mango trees on our island. They are evergeen, continuously produce fruits and can live up to 300 years.
๐ณMango trees can grow up to 35m. Ours are about 20m and are on top of the hills. We cannot access the fruits directly.
๐ But they are generous with us. Every day, 5 to 10 ripe mangoes detach themselves from the trees, roll down the hill and come directly to us.
๐ฅ We eat the mango fruits as it, or use them to prepare:
Mango avocado salad, mango curry, mango ginger smoothie, mango sambal, mango spicy salsa, and much more...
๐Mangoes are one of the most international fruit :
๐ฎ๐ณThey originated in India over 4,000 years ago.
๐โโ๏ธ Due to a mango's large center seed, the fruit relied on humans to transport them across the world.
๐ฎ๐ท Mangoes were first transported to Middle East and Africa, by the Persians, in 10th century.
๐ต๐น They were then spread by the Portugese to Europe, in 15th century and to South America, in 17th century.
๐บ๐ธ In US, mango first arrived in Florida, in 19th century.
๐We have no clue how the mango seeds first arrived on our island, but we are forever grateful of mother nature and the humans who did this ๐
