Join us for a guided field trip exploring the little-known stories of Cronkeerin Lime Kiln and Kiltiernan Graveyard. Discover the rich heritage and fascinating history of these two sites, hear about the people connected to them, and explore their place within the wider landscape. Come along and uncover some of the stories hidden in this important part of our local built and cultural heritage.

Meet at Church of the Holy Family carpark (F94 XY81) at 6.30pm to carpool. Good footwear and waterproof clothing recommended. Fieldtrip will last approx. 1.5 hours.

FIRST TWINNING EVENT – ARDARA²: Two Lands, One European Vision

From 7–9 August 2026, Ardara, County Donegal, will proudly host the first twinning event of the European project ARDARA² – Two Lands, One European Vision. For the first time, the communities of Ardara, Donegal and Ardara, Sardinia (Italy) will come together for a unique international exchange celebrating friendship, civic participation, cultural heritage and European cooperation.

This special event marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between our two communities, creating new opportunities for cooperation, cultural exchange and lasting European friendship.
The project is coordinated by the Municipality of Ardara, Sardinia, in partnership with Awake Tourism CLG, and is funded by the European Union through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme.
