Connemara Sands Hotel & Spa has been recognised in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards 2026, placing us among the top 1% of hotels worldwide and No. 14 in Ireland in the Small Hotel category.

For a small, family run, independent hotel on the edge of the Atlantic, this means so much.

We’re a family-run hotel, but it’s really Surf who runs the show! When he’s not supervising Marian from his throne by reception, he’s enjoying his essential daily ‘walkies’ down to the beach with Kathy and Dean.

We warmly welcome your own furry best friends here at the Connemara Sands. Dogs are welcome in our self-catering accommodation and can also join you in our restaurant and bar. With oodles of beach walkies right at the back door, we promise they’ll sleep as well as you do.
