A Little Piece of Old Ireland by the Lake 🍂🔥🏡

Imagine stepping away from the world and into the warmth, charm and character of a traditional 200 year old Irish family cottage, beautifully restored while retaining the spirit and soul of the original home.

At the heart of the cottage is the most magnificent feature of all: the original open fireplace. This is no ordinary fireplace. It is the showpiece of the house and a wonderful reminder of how Irish families once lived.

The great open hearth was traditionally the heart of the home. It was where the family cooked, kept warm, gathered together, told stories and spent their evenings. Cooking pots and kettles would have hung over the flames, while the fire provided the warmth and light for the household.

Our fireplace, with its beautiful exposed stone, both inside and outside, gives the cottage an atmosphere that simply cannot be recreated in a modern house.

The cottage itself has two spacious bedrooms, one ensuite, a main bathroom, two lovely reception rooms and a fully fitted kitchen with everything you need, including a washing machine, dishwasher and electric cooker.

There is generous parking, wonderful privacy and, most importantly, stunning views across the lake. 🌊

And then there are those little comforts that make a holiday special: central heating, beautiful traditional décor and a log burner for cosy evenings.

As summer begins to fade and autumn approaches, this is when the cottage really comes into its own. The evenings draw in, the countryside takes on a different beauty and the fire seems to glow a little brighter. It is the perfect time to put your feet up, pour yourself a glass of something nice and simply relax.
